MANILA, Philippines - Five riders took up the challenge to test their stamina and staying power under extreme sporting condition when they fired up the Pharmaton MVP Challenge, a national endurance race, from the People’s Park in Davao City recently.
Anthony Cuerpo, TJ Isla, Chok Martinez, Popo Remigio, and Monica Torres pedaled to Bukidnon, where another road bike challenge took place.
Day 3 saw more competitive action, this time with a trail bike race and a 30-minute run towards the first pit stop in Cagayan de Oro.
After the mandatory rest period, the pack crossed to the province of Bohol to start another leg of challenges. Highlighting the Bohol leg were a three-hour road bike challenge and another three-hour swimming challenge.
Still in Bohol, the challengers set out for a kayak race at the Puntod loop followed by a two-hour run at the Bee Farm Resort.
The Danao Adventure Park in Bohol is the venue for Day 6 challenges – a trail run, kayak slalom, and a mental challenge at the Danao caves.
Capping the first week of the challenge will be another round of road bike and running challenges in Tubigon, Bohol before the delegates set off to the Cebu Capitol in the Queen City of the South, where an uphill bike and a night time run await the five participants.
