Girls caging unfolds today

MANILA, Philippines - The Interscholastic Girls Basketball League kicks off the early summer cage hostilities as it holds the IGBL Summer Conference beginning today at De La Salle-Zobel School Pavilion.

St. Paul-Pasig and La Salle-Zobel head the roster of participants in the two-division league, which features some of the leading schools in the National Capital Region, including Southville International School and Colleges, Diliman Preparatory School, Mandaluyong Science High School, Colegio De San Agustin Biñan and St. James College of Parañaque.

Diliman PS collides with Southville Int’l School in the first game of the tournament, which features the Grade School division (13-years-old-and-under) and High School side (17-and-under).

Organized by Sports Empire, Inc., headed by Oliver Atienza, the event will be officiated by the National Amateur Basketball Referees Organization.

Aside from the La Salle-Zobel gym inside the Ayala Alabang Village, games will also be played at the Colegio De San Agustin gym in Biñan Laguna, the Diliman Preparatory School gym in Quezon City and the Southville International School and Colleges gym in Las Piñas.
