MANILA, Philippines - Arman Santos, Vice Goto, Bebot Uy and Jun Topacio loom as the favorites with their top-notch entries in the National Cockers Alliance sixth derby unfolding today at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
The four breeders shared top honors in last week’s NCA derby and are expected to lead the chase for top honors in the event hosted by Bebot Roxas, Ruel Ricafort and Homer Mercado.
Out to foil their bid are NCA members Rep. Iggy Arroyo, Tommy Chua and Osang dela Cruz, Gerry Ramos, Elmer Nepomuceno, Rene Medina, Manny and Armand Santos, Jun Santiago, Rudy Albano, Jimmy Ang, Efren Canlas, Gov. Ito Ynares, Jun Mendoza, Boyet Joson, Danny and Joel Teves, Patrick Antonio, Romy Lim, Ricky Magtoto, Eric dela Rosa, Mario Villamor, James Uy, Eddie Gonzales, Bong Carreon, Ellan Nagaño, Pete Ison and Ramon Preza.
Meanwhile, the race for the NCA Cocker of the Year award heats up with Against All Odds showing the way with 23 1/5 points. SF San Roque is in second with 22 1/2 points followed by Goldquest Champions with 20, Jade Resort I with 19, Magnefor Camsur with 17, Imax and JT Emerald with 15 1/2 points, Jimafer BG with 15, and Ramloid with 14 1/2 points.
The next NCA derby, sponsored by Sagupaan Complexor, will be held Feb. 22 with Rudy Albano, Jimmy Ang, Efren Canlas and Jimafer as hosts.
