Ateneo, Palanan dispute Toby's semifinal berth

MANILA, Philippines –  Ateneo and Palanan Elem. School clash today for the other semifinal berth in Pool B of the boys division in the Toby’s Sports Junior Volleyball League at the Lyceum gym.

Elizabeth Seton School likewise goes for the other semis seat in Pool A as it tangles with Academy of God’s Children School in the other crucial match at the close of the single round elims of the tournament sponsored by Toby’s Sports.

The Ateneo-Palanan duel is set at 1 p.m. with the winner joining Pool B topnotcher Concepcion Elem. School in the crossover semis phase set next Sunday.

ESS and AGCS, meanwhile, collide at 11 a.m. with the former eyeing no less than a win to join Pool A leader De La Salle-Lipa in the next round of the tournament backed by Shakey’s, LBC, Mikasa and Asics.

Meanwhile, DLS-Lipa braces for its showdown with MGC New Life Academy on Feb. 20 in one of the Final Four matches in the girls side, hoping to nail the win and keep its title-retention bid alive.

The boys’ team of DLS-Lipa, meanwhile, will meet the winner of the Ateneo-Palanan duel. The other semifinalists are the MGC New Life Christian Academy in girls Pool B.
