Garcia, Stehmeier rule Mango Tee

MANILA, Philippines - With the pair of Agustin Cailao-Manuel Bakunawa cruising to victory in the net competition, JB Garcia and King Stehmeier provided the fireworks by snatching the low gross crown from the fancied pairs at the close of the 27th Mango Tee member-guest tournament of the Alabang Country Club.

Starting the final round three points behind, Garcia and defending guest champion Stehmeier sizzled with similar scores of 36 points which was par for the course and went on to even win by five with a 135 total in the event co-presented by Pilipinas Shell, Smart Infinity and Pancake House.

Garcia and Stehmeier finished five up on Martin Lorenzo, gunning for his second straight title in as many weeks, and partner JP Reyes who combined for 66 and a 130 aggregate. Day 1 leaders Tommy Manotoc and Abe Rosal settled for third at 128.

Five of the six division champions including Cailao-Bakunawa came from the batch completing their rounds on penultimate day of the six-day event.

Cailao-Bakunawa beat by three Gilbert Joven-Julius Cada, who went on to top Class B with their 151. Also in the winning batch were Monto Briones-Yayi Escaudro (Class A) and Rafael Consunji-Bernard Chang (Class D). Cesar Munoz-Jose Ma.
