Mango Tee gets going at Alabang Country Club

MANILA, Philippines - Action in the 27th staging of the Mango Tee, Alabang Country Club’s much-awaited member-guest golf tournament, gets going today with the first group from a total field of 768 players teeing off in the morning and afternoon batches.

The Monday batch of 256 players will take the first crack at a whopping prize package worth at least P6 million prepared by the Mango Tee committee.

Former President Fidel V. Ramos and Alabang Country Club president Luis Morales joined tournament sponsors, club officials and members of the Mango Tee committee in the opening ceremonials and cocktails that formally ushered in the six-day competition co-presented by Pilipinas Shell, Smart Infinity and Pancake House.

Mitsubishi Motors Phils, Inc. and Citimotors are providing the cars for the hole in one on all four par-3s while Club Car, Turf Co.,/Texas Eagle and Kart Plaza/Yamaha are bundling the prize package with their carts.

Golforce, Zesto Corp., Duty Free Phils, Bellevue, BPI Assets, Pacific Links and Gatorade are the major sponsors.

Outback Steakhouse is sponsoring the cocktails and awards ceremony.

The hole sponsors are Bayantel, Rockwell, Skycable, Security Bank, BPI, IS Mechanical/Kobelco Compressors, Loopex Packaging Products, Asian Hospital, Prudential Customs Brokerage;

When the tournament ends this Sunday, a Mitsubishi Lancer and a Club Car will be raffled off to participants.
