DLS-Lipa, Seton tossers dispute Toby's semis slot

MANILA, Philippines - De La Salle-Lipa and Elizabeth Seton School clash today in a duel of unbeaten teams for a slot in the semifinal of the Toby’s Juniors Volleyball League at Lyceum gym.

The Lipa spikers swept their first three matches in emphatic fashion and are looking to cap their impressive campaign in the boys A division with another victory for a sweep and the first slot in the crossover semis.

But they will be up against an equally talented E Seton School side, which heads to their 9 a.m. encounter boosted by back-to-back victories in the league sponsored by Toby’s Sports and backed by Shakey’s, LBC, Mikasa and Asics.

Ateneo (1-1) and Xavier (0-2), meanwhile, collide in a crucial match at 10 a.m. in the boys B side, each out to score a win to stay in the race for the other semis seat. Concepcion Elem School clinched the first berth with a 4-0 slate but the fight for the other semis slot remains wide open with Palanan Elem. School also toting a 1-1 card and Claret still winless in two games.

F. Benitez III Elem School and De La Salle-Lipa also dispute the first semis seat in girls A division at 11 a.m. after both teams swept their first two games in the league featuring future volley stars.

MGC New Christian Academy also shoots for the other semis slot in girls B side as it plays De La Salle-Canlubang in the main game at 1 p.m.
