Top 7 schools clash in ICTSI jungolf final

-

MANILA, Philippines - Survivors of the grueling two-leg eliminations clash in the grand finals of the ICTSI Inter-school golf tournament today and tomorrow at the Player course of the Orchard Golf and Country Club in Dasmariñas, Cavite. Tee-off is shotgun style at 8 a.m.

La Salle Greenhills, Ateneo, Xavier, Brent, La Salle Canlubang, St. Paul’s College and Assumption mix it up in the 36-hole finale culminating the school season series of the Junior Golf Foundation of the Philippines (JGFP) backed mainly by ICTSI.

The Zobel girls finished with 173 points over 72 holes while the Assumption squad wound up with 172.

LSGH coasted to a 19-point victory over La Salle Zobel in the juniors division and was even more impressive in a 78-point win over Xavier in Midgets 2 in the eliminations.

Ateneo, meanwhile, completed a 1-2 finish in Midgets 1 while St. Paul’s College won Girls 1 in the inter-school series.

But it will all be back to zero for the qualifiers in the finals as they face stiff competition, not to mention the challenging conditions of the Player course.

Orchard/Sta. Lucia Realty, Philippine Airlines, Pancake House Group, Teriyaki Boy and Sizzilin Pepper are major sponsors of the tourney. The other sponsors are Dynamic Sports and Leisure Corp., McDonald’s, Smart, Golf Depot and Pioneer Insurance.

Top individual players in the eliminations – AR Ramos of LSGH (juniors), Ryan Monsalve of LSGH (Midgets 1), Kristoffer Arevalo of Sacred Heart (Midgets 2), Marvi Monsalve of St. Paul’s Pasig (Girls 1) and Princess Superal of St. Francis of Assisi (Girls 2) – will also try to stamp their class in their respective categories.
