MANILA, Philippines - A big field of 200 will slug it out for top honors in various divisions in the 11th Camp John Hay Chairman’s Cup which gets under way this weekend at the John Hay Golf Club in Baguio City.
Presented by Warbird Security and Investigation Agency and Golforce, Inc., the 36-hole, two-day event set Saturday and Sunday offers top prizes in Class A (0-9 handicap), Class B (10-15), Class C (16-19), Class D (20 and above) divisions.
Also on tap are competitions in the ladies and guest categories of the event sponsored by American Eye Center, The Manor at Camp John Hay and Le Chef.
The Stableford scoring system with full January handicap for members (maximum of 27) and Molave scoring system for guests will be used.
Lee Byung Sun is tipped to defend the overall crown he won in last year’s staging of the annual event held in honor of CJH chair Bob Sobrepeña. Ahn Joon, on the other hand, is the defending net champion.
Like in the past stagings, the title chase in various classes is expected to be keen with Mars Garcia, Jeong Sek Jun, Eric Acuña, Ben Ayoong, Dina Eden and Thirdy Escaño tipped to lead the hunt in their respective divisions.
Fabulous prizes are also at stake for hole-in-one feat as well as in the raffle during the awards rites on Sunday at CJH Verandah.
