Crack foreign jungolfers vie in PCSO tilt

-

MANILA, Philippines - The country’s top junior golfers clash with crack foreign rivals in the 11th PCSO Philippine International Junior Golf Championships Jan. 4-7 at the Greenfield Golf and Leisure Club in Calamba, Laguna.

A total of 36 foreign players from the United States, China, Taiwan, South Korea, Malaysia and Indonesia have signed up for the event sponsored by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office. They will be billeted at the Cantada Sports Center in Taguig City.

“This will be a very exciting tournament. It will be fun, and everybody’s going to have a great time,” said Edgardo Cantada of the organizing Philippine Junior Golf Federation.

Taiwan is sending in seven of its finest junior golfers while the other early entries are representing their own junior golf clubs.

“The course is all spruced up and ready for them. All they have to do is play their best, and win the trophies we’ve prepared for this event,” said tournament director Gerard Cantada.
