This year’s staging of the SIM backed by Smart Sports, 100 Plus, Summit Drinking Water, Deuter, iFitness, Subic EnerZone, Ceres, Global Destiny Cable, MultiSport, OneSport and Jam 88.3 FM, is expected to draw around 13,000 runners. Events on tap are 42K main event, the 21K, 10K, 5K and 3K races.
SIM race director Eric Imperio, also the man at the helm of the 70.3 Ironman Challenge and the 10-10-10 Pasig Run, said the SIM has the making of becoming a world-class standard race.
“Runners will be given race chips, which we got from an Australian company, to monitor the time of the participants consistently. Portalets will also be made available in the race course while drinking stations will also be provided to them every 1.5-kilometers of the race,” said Imperio.
