St. Francis, PCCr inch closer to UCLAA showdown

MANILA, Philippines - League leaders St. Francis of Assisi College and Philippine College of Criminology clobbered separate rivals to move closer to an anticipated showdown between two unbeaten teams in the senior division of the third UCLAA basketball tournament at the Central Colleges of the Philippines.

From a tight first half, St. Francis of Assisi (4-0) went on to beat St. Dominic Savio, 83-69, while PCCr (4-0) crushed Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa, 70-50.

St. Dominic fell to 1-3 and PLM to 0-3. Las Piñas College holds a 4-1 card and National College of Business and Arts 1-4.

In juniors action, PCCr rolled to its fifth straight win, dumping Kings Montessori, 91-68, while University of the East (3-1) turned back St. Dominic Savio, 69-64.

St. Francis remains the other unbeaten high school team at 3-0 followed by UE 3-1, St. Dominic 1-3, NCBA 1-3, Kings Montessori 0-2, and Las Piñas 0-3.

St. Dominic 69 – Belosillo 16, Gabo 15, Sibal 8, Calisay 8, Alfaro 8, Soleta 5, Nudo 4, Billones 3, Jacaban 2, Jamito 0, Bucao 0, Cady 0.
