NCA holds year's final derby tonight

MANILA, Philippines - The National Cockers Alliance holds its final derby for the year with a banner cast vying for top honors at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City tonight.

Hosted by Rep. Iggy Arroyo, Tommy Chua and Osang dela Cruz, the event features the country’s leading breeders and their best aces fighting it out for supremacy.

Part of the proceeds of all the NCA derbies will go to a scholarship fund for underprivileged college students.

The NCA will host its next derby on Jan. 4, 2011 to be hosted by Gerry Ramos and Rene Medina.

The two derbies will also serve as the prelude to the 2011 World Championship slated Jan. 11, 13 and 15, also at the Ynares arena.

Top American breeders Tom Wilson, Roger Baumgarter, George Torres, Rene Medina, Larry Whitehead and Mikey Tallent will head the star-studded world tilt.

Also in the fold are 2010 NCA world championship derby winner and 2010 Cocker of the Year James Uy and 2009 winner Patrick Antonio along with Danny Teves and former champions Bebot Villar, Eric dela Rosa, T. Sevilla, Buboy dela Cruz and Mario Villamor.
