JRU blanks Don Bosco in B-League

MANILA, Philippines –  Surging Jose Rizal U blanked Don Bosco Mandaluyong, 3-0, to force a three-way tie for the lead with Saint Clare College and Philippine Maritime Institute in the National Collegiate Billiards League at the Star Billiards Center in Quezon City.

Banking on solid plays by Alfiniano Tagle and Ralph Ivan Rivera, the Heavy Bombers proved they are a force to reckon with in the tourney, also known as B-League, improving their match points total to 17 after the first of their three matches in the day.

The Saints, powered by Ritchy Gogo and Ellezer Castillo, held off a pesky Centro Escolar side, 2-1, while the Admirals scored a walkover win over La Salle.

The Saints and Admirals matched the Heavy Bombers’ 17-point total in the 19-team tourney supported by The Philippine STAR, H2O Hotel, Manila Ocean Park, Negros Billiards Stable, Malungai Life Oil, Niknok Pritson Manok, Hermes Sports Bar and Human Plus Probiotics.
