Salva PCCL's MVP
MANILA, Philippines - Nico Salva, who powered Ateneo to its successful title-retention campaign in the Philippine Collegiate Champions League recently, was named the league’s Most Valuable Player.
He also led the Mythical Team cast.
As the top award recipient of the PCCL’s Manuel V. Pangilinan Special Awards, Salva received the MVP trophy, a medal, and prizes worth P30,000.
With the victory, the Eagles will represent the country in the 18th Super Kung Sheung Cup slated Dec. 14-19 in Hong Kong.
Other members of the Mythical team are Ateneo’s Kirk Long, University of Cebu’s June Mar Fajardo, and Alex Nuyles and Lester Alvarez of losing finalist Adamson University.
Each member of the Mythical Team received a medal and prizes worth P5,000.
ABS-CBN, the league’s TV partner, will also give prizes to the Final Four schools and their team members in the form of athletic equipment and items: Ateneo (P500,000 for the school and P400,000 for team members); Adamson (P200,000 each for the school and team members); De La Salle University (P100,000 each); and University of Cebu (P50,000 each).
