Miriam, SBC duel for WBL crown
MANILA, Philippines - Miriam College and San Beda Alabang will meet in a championship duel for the 17-Under Competitive Division of the Women’s Basketball League this weekend at the Xavier school gym.
Miriam clobbered Assumption College, 55-48, in their recent semifinal clash while San Beda Alabang walloped Montessori Integrated School, 58-41, in the tournament backed by Milo and organized by the pioneering Basketball Efficiency and Scientific Training Center (BEST Center).
In the 17-Under Developmental Division, Colegio San Agustin copped the first finals berth with a 44-32 victory over St. Paul Pasig while St. James Academy took the other slot by blasting PWU-JASMS, 32-20.
The 13-Under finals will be between Assumption Antipolo, which stunned Miriam-A, 44-32, and La Salle Zobel, which tripped St. Pedro Poveda, 28-3.
