MANILA, Philippines – The two-day Run United 2 races drew a record high of more than 15,000 participants when Unilab staged the third and final leg of the RunRio Triology at Global City at The Fort recently.
The event was a follow up to Unilab’s Run United I last March with the RunRio triology finale holding what could be the most number of categories in one race.
That included the 500m, 3K, 5K, 10K, 21K and the 32K, an entirely new category in any race events designed for full-marathon runners to race at their pace without having to worry about the last 10kms of the 42K“π race.
But overall, the Run United 2 proved to be a fun family event in line with Unilab’s active health program of providing lifestyle solutions and opportunities to help families stay active and healthy together.
It was also held to raise funds for the Gawad Kalusugan, the health program of Gawad Kalinga, and Hero Foundation.
The Unilab series of running events actually kicked off last March with around 8,000 runners taking part in Run Unilab 1 while the Bike United drew close to 1,500 biking enthusiasts at McKinley Hills in Taguig last month.
The Tri United, on the other hand, lured over 200 triathletes when it was held at the Whiterock Beach Resort in Zambales recently.
