MANILA, Philippines - Beach volleyball will kick off hostilities in the second phase of the NCAA South Season 12, host First Asia Institute of Technology and Humanities (FAITH) announced yesterday.
Action starts Dec. 10 and 11 at the beach volleyball court inside FAITH’s campus in Tanauan, Batangas, marking the debut of beach volley in the 10-school league.
Football will unwrap next on Jan. 15, 2011 with succeeding games slated Jan. 19, 22, 26, and 29 and the championship set on Feb. 12.
Swimming, badminton, table tennis and taekwondo will wrap up competitions in the NCAA South’s Season 12 calendar on Feb. 19.
The participating teams will be competing for the first overall championship that the league will award for topnotchers in the men’s, women’s and juniors divisions.
After the first sem, University of Perpetual Help System-Laguna (UPHSL) led the way with victories in men’s basketball, men’s volleyball and chess. Lyceum of the Philippines University-Batangas, the women’s basketball and volleyball champion, had the edge in the distaff side. San Beda College-Alabang (boys’ basketball), UPHSL (girls’ volleyball) and De La Salle-Lipa (boys’ volleyball) contended for the juniors’ plum.
