The Cube's giant screens catch it all
MANILA, Philippines - For the fourth time in two years, Araneta Coliseum’s The Cube will feature a blockbuster fight pitting Filipino boxing hero Manny Pacquiao against WBC welterweight champion Antonio Margarito for the WBC junior middleweight championship at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Texas Saturday (Sunday in Manila).
Pacquiao, already a holder of a record seven championships in the same number of weight divisions, is eyeing for his eighth victory with the scheduled 12-round fight to be aired live via the Big Dome’s The Cube starting at 8 a.m.
The Cube projects images on giant 30-foot screens in high resolution for clear pictures from all angles of the coliseum. It has been instrumental in bringing three previous Pacquiao title fights, including his WBO welterweight duel with Joshua Clottey; the World junior welterweight clash against Ricky “The Hitman” Hatton; and the WBO welterweight and WBC diamond belts against Miguel Cotto.
The telecast of the fight also coincides with the 50th anniversary celebrations of Araneta Coliseum.
Tickets for the Pacquiao-Margarito battle are now on sale. For reservations, contact Ticketnet at 911-5555 or log on to www.ticketnet.com.ph.
