Top seed Thai, Belgian in QF

MANILA, Philippines - Fancied Nungnadda Wannasuk of Thailand and Gally de Wael of Belgium scored contrasting victories to advance to the quarterfinal round of the ICTSI-ITF Women’s Circuit at the Rizal Tennis Center yesterday.

The top-seeded Wannasuk trounced Indian qualifier Nimisha Mohan, 6-4, 6-0, while the No. 2 de Wael repulsed Chinese qualifier Yang Zhaoxuan, 7-5, 7-6(4), in the tournament presented by ICTSI.

De Wael will take on No. 5 doubles partner Elodie Rogge-Dietrich of France, a 7-6(5), 6-1 winner over qualifier Jessica Sabeshinskaja of Germany, while Wannasuk clashes with the winner of the Fil-German Katharina Lenhert-Korea’s Shin Jung Yoon duel.
