PBA lines up eight Halloween thrillers

MANILA, Philippines - Eight interesting double-headers that could effect significant movement in the standings have been calendared this week – a Halloween treat by the PBA for the fans.

Two certified thrillers scheduled on Wednesday serves as curtain raiser of the four-day “Halloween Special” with San Miguel Beer’s attempt for a third straight drawing much of the attention.

Their egos battered after a disappointing 83-97 loss against Talk N’ Text three weeks ago, the Beermen strongly bounced back with a heart-stopping 69-68 decision against the Barangay Ginebra Kings on Oct. 17 then followed it with a 119-94 blasting of the Powerade Tigers last Sunday in Panabo City to gain a share of the lead.

Now the Beermen are going for their third straight win against the Alaska Aces, who are driven by their desire to redeem themselves from a frustrating loss against Air 21 last Friday.

The SMB-Alaska showdown is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. following the 5 o’clock battle between TnT – tied for first place with SMB and Alaska with 3-1 records – and Powerade.
