Lee leads AGC monthly winner

MANILA, Philippines - Edgar Lee fired a gross 77 worth 42 points under the Stableford scoring system to bag the Group I crown in the Architects Golf Club monthly tournament at the Sta. Elena Golf Club recently.

Lee, an 11 handicapper, posted a one-point victory over Jose Madamba and Jonathan Salcedo, who both turned in 41 points. Madamba shot a gross 83 for a net 67 and nipped Salcedo, who had a gross 83 and a net 67, for runner-up honors in the event which drew 103 players.

Christopher Ong topped Group II with 43 points from a gross 85 and a net 65, beating Cordell Guanco, who had 42 points from a gross 83 and a net 66. Al Tatel finished third with a gross 88 and a net 70 worth 39 points.

Robert Ng Ong scored 44 points from a gross 85 and a net 64 as he captured the Group III crown in the tournament sponsored by Boysen Paints. Manny Padit placed second with 43 points from a gross 88 and a net 65.

Ed Casares also chalked up a one-point in Group IV, finishing with 36 points from a gross 99 and a net 72, one point clear of Hilario Chua, who had a gross 101 worth 35 points. Chua nipped Manuel Ko, who also had 35 points from a gross 102, in the countback for runner-up honors.

Michael Tomeldan, meanwhile, ran away with the Group V plum with 41 points from a gross 98, beating Gregorio Conception, who had a gross 103 worth 36 points, by five. Medeliano Roldan placed third with 34 points from a gross 106.
