Freddie Deen dartfest
MANILA, Philippines - The second professional dart tour qualifying tournament dubbed the “Freddie Deen Cup” will be held Oct. 23 at the NU Grill, Ambassador Hotel along Mabini St., Manila.
Organizers Cubie and Manuel Ballesca and Reggie Francisco also announced the staging of the third qualifying event on Nov. 6 at the same venue.
Cash prizes, trophies and raffle items worth P30,000 will be up for grabs in each tourney with the champions earning P12,000.
Original members of the Philippine Dart Association are spearheading the competition to give more opportunities to local darters to be recognized as professional players.
The organizers have also decided to give due recognition to one of the country’s best darters, Freddie Deen, who dominated the local scene in the 90s and was even ranked third in the world.
Registration for the 25K Classified Doubles/5K Ladies’ Singles is set at 6 p.m. with competition starting two hours later on each tournament day. Registration fee is P250.
The event is sponsored by Toby’s Sports, Tres Marias de Malate and terton Craft dynamic darts and supported by Andy and Cory Mercado, Bel Umali, Errol Magtubo and friends of Freddie Deen.
