MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine swimming league will stage the fifth leg of PSL Age Group Swimming Championship on Oct. 30 at the newly renovated Rizal Memorial pool.

The event, sponsored by Dolan and hosted by the Evangelista Aquatics and Sports Management, is open to all age groupers regardless of club affiliation. No membership fee is required.

The events include 6-under, 11-12, 13-14, and 15-and-above for boys and girls.

PSL president Susan Papa said entry fees would be waived for the most outstanding swimmers in the last competition in Lipa City. They are Charles Ticbaen, Dominic Ramirez, Ice Ty Tan, Kyle Libat, Paula Cayanan, Sean Terrence Zamora, Hans Ramos, Alex Nacpil, Jacquiline Orig, Christine Mercado, Kristine Libat, James Amago, Alexandra Aquino and John Banzon.

“Giving them free entry fees is the only way I can think of to motivate these young swimmers to work hard. It is not the money but the prestige,” said Papa. “We will be be bringing the best to international competitions as part of our development program.”

Meanwhile, Papa announced the inclusion of Dennis Cordero in the coaching staff of the Susan Papa Swimming Academy. Cordero’s daughters Denjyline, Delia Angela and Denise have also joined the academy.
