UE Kid Warriors triumph, advance to MSSA quarters

-

MANILA, Philippines - The University of the East Kid Warriors drew firepower from the national under-13 standouts to crush Don Bosco Mandaluyong, 64-47, to assure themselves of a place in the quarterfinals of the Metro School Sports Association yesterday.

National U-13 hotshot Ritchie Rivero shot a game high 15 points, while Joshua Santos and Earl Lagaras chipped in 14 ad 10, respectively, in giving the Kid Warriors of coach Mark Herrera their sixth win in seven outings in the eight-team field.

“Our team is new but the boys are already playing like veterans against the regular teams of the league,” said Herrera, coach of four-time Junior PBA champion Batang Talk N Text-Quezon City and the national U-13 of the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas.

The Kid Warriors are supported by UE president Ester Garcia and EVP Carmelita Mateo and sponsored by 3K Scent Perfume owned by Herrera.
