MANILA, Philippines - Tempo assistant sports editor Tito Talao was voted to a second term as president of the PBA Press Corps at the Cuneta Astrodome press room recently.
Also retaining their posts are People Journal’s Zean Macamay, vice president; Bulletin’s Waylon Galvez, secretary; PM sports editor Mae Balbuena, treasurer; and Tribune’s Arman Carandang, auditor.
Sports editors Ding Marcelo of the Bulletin, Lito Tacujan of The Star, Philippine Sportswriters Association president Teddyvic Melendres of the Inquirer, SCOOP president Eddie Alinea, former PBAPC presidents Nelson Beltran of the Star, Noli Cortez of Malaya, and Musong Castillo of the Inquirer kept their seats in the board of directors.
During the last PBA season, the Press Corps held a sports writing contest for college journalists, the Raffy Japa Basketball Cup, and the PBAPC Awards where B-Meg Derby Ace’s Ryan Gregorio was feted as Coach of the Year and Alaska Aces team owner Wilfred Steven Uytengsu as Executive of the Year.
