MANILA, Philippines - William Tan came from behind to rule the final race and virtually capture the overall crown in the penultimate leg of the 2010 Yokohama Philippine Grand Touring (GT) Championships at the Batangas Racing Circuit recently.
Tan, who started second to the last in the 15-man reversed grid, wrested the lead on the seventh lap en route to victory.
After finishing second in the Sprint Race, Tan moved up to seventh at the start and took second place on the third lap.
He then grabbed the top spot from erstwhile leader Dennis Uy of SEAOIL-Velocity Motors on the seventh and held on to his post from there.
He wrapped up the 18-lap final race in 34 minutes, 31.443 seconds to likewise claim the GT200 crown.
