Ramirez, Ticbaen rule PSL age-group swim

-

MANILA, Philippines - Kid swimmers Dominic Anila Ramirez and Charles Ticbaen sparkled in the Lipa City swimming pool as they ruled the six-under group in the fourth leg of the Philippine Swimming League age-group series yesterday.

Despite the intermittent rains, the kids aged six to 17 years showed their stuff in closely fought competitions in the event hosted by the Lipa Mediatrix Swim Club with the support of Lipa Mayor Meynard Asa Sabili.

The other outstanding swimmers were Ice Ty Tan, Kyle Libat (7-8), Paula Cayanan, Sean Terence Zamora (9-10), Alexandra Nacpil, Hans Ramos (11-12), Jacqueline Orig, Christen Mercado (13-14 ), Kristine Libat, James Amago (15-16) and Alexandra Aquino, John Banzon (17-over).

“I’m happy to see the boys and girls improving their best times in every leg of the series. The monthly competition program helps a lot,” said PSL president Susan Papa.

“Our thanks to Lipa City Mayor Sabili for his support and free use of the pool, together with the host club, Lipa Mediatrix and technical support of Edgar Galeno. It made possible the success of a competitive swimming event,” added Papa.

The team champions were Lipa Mediatrix Swim Club under coach Emil and Grace Amago, MCU of Ryan Robles, Susan Papa Swim Academy of Al Papa, and Montgomery Place Swim Club of Chito Rivera.

PSL competitions are open to all swimmers, and there are no membership fees required.
