Santos eyes third victory in dragfest

MANILA, Philippines - The country’s fastest drivers gear up for crucial encounters as the 2010 Northern Series Philippine Drag Racing Championships stages its third leg this Saturday at the Clark International Speedway.

Pepi Santos of H3 Autoworks seeks to keep solo leadership in the Quick 8 division as he guns for a third straight triumph in this series sanctioned by the Automobile Association Philippines (AAP) and supported by Yokohama Tires, San Miguel Corporation, PAGCOR Sports, Aeromed, Chequered Flag and Stoplight TV.

He is yet to face Anthony Go of JCT-Blanche Racing in the Pro class finals, which was postponed due to heavy downpour.

His black Honda hatchback chipped in the fastest time of 9.672 seconds in the last leg as he bids for another convincing triumph over six-time champion Jonathan Tiu of JCT-Blanche Racing.
