-

MANILA, Philippines - Circuit racing resumes on Sunday as title contenders William Tan and Mike Tuason of TRS-Castrol brace for another showdown in the fifth leg of the Yokohama Philippine Grand Touring (GT) Championships at the Batangas Racing Circuit.

Tan grabbed solo lead following his second straight win as he now has 215 points with a third straight victory to boost his chances for the Driver of the Year award.

Tuason, meanwhile, faces a must-win situation to even things up and force a title showdown in the championship round. He is currently second overall with 192 points, 23 points behind Tan.

Tan is also setting his sights on the GT 200 crown as he guns for a victory over overall third placer Dennis Uy of SEAOIL-Velocity Motors and Joey Perry.

Tuason likewise seeks a repeat win over Leo San Juan and Jeffrey Villanueva in the GT 300 event.

Stuart MacDonald of TRS-Castrol, meanwhile, tries to keep his lead in the GT 125 class as he seeks another win over teammates Bobby Noriega and Ding Dizon.

Participants will battle each other in the morning 12-lap Sprint Race and the 18-lap Main race set in the afternoon of the event sanctioned by the Automobile Association Philippines and sponsored by Yokohama Tires, PAGCOR Sports, Aeromed, Chequered Flag, and Stoplight TV.
