NU spikers vow comeback vs D Savio
MANILA, Philippines - National U hopes to rebound from a four-set loss the first time out as it takes on a debuting St. Dominic Savio side at resumption of action of the first LBC Men’s Volleyball League at the Arellano gym today.
The Bulldogs dropped a 19-25, 18-25, 28-26, 20-25 setback to the Arellano Chiefs last Wednesday but are confident of their chances against the D. Savio tossers in the lone seniors match in Group B.
Gametime is at 8:30 a.m.
Two juniors matches spice up the fourth playdate of the league serving as the revival of the men’s volley circuit sponsored by LBC Hari ng Padala headed by chief marketing director Javy Mantecon.
International School Manila takes on Mayamot High School at 10 a.m. while Claret, which thwarted ISM, 25-8, 25-18, last week, goes for its second straight win and the solo lead against Angeles Univ. Foundation at 11 a.m.
Twenty-four teams are seeing action in the inaugural tournament organized by Metro Sports and backed by Shakey’s Pizza, Toby’s Sports, Dunkin’ Donuts, Mikasa and Asics with Ateneo and Far Eastern U leading the 11-team cast in the seniors division.
Others in the fold are University of Perpetual Help, AUF, St. Benilde, San Beda, University of the East, University of the Phils. and Arellano U.
Ateneo also heads the cast in the juniors side of the tournament along with
University of Santo Tomas, UE, NU, Colegio San Agustin, Xavier, Sta. Elena HS
and La Salle-Zobel.
