MANILA, Philippines - The Asian Kennel Club Union of the Philippines, Inc. (AKCUPI) will be sending its homegrown judges to adjudicate at the international all-breed dog shows from September to December this year in parts of Asia and Spain.
Henry Babiera, chairman/president of AKCUPI, said that the invitation is proof of the international recognition of the Filipinos’ judging credentials and capability.
The club will send Jester Jo Ong Chuan to the Kennel Club of Myanmar’s first all-breed championship show on Sept. 26-27; Ed Cruz, AKCUPI vice-president to the all-breed dog show in Valencia, Spain on Oct. 3; Dr. Nathaniel Cheng to the Sarawak Kennel Club’s first all-breed championship show in Western Malaysia on Oct. 3; and Joseph Ong Chuan to the first all-breed championship show of East Malaysia Dog Association (EMDA) on Dec. 12.
Meanwhile, Club Terriales Filipinas, an AKCUPI’s affiliate, will hold the first and second international all-breed dog shows this weekend at Tiendesitas, Ortigas Ave.
Two top-notch international all-breed judges, Dr. Osvaldo Sanchez, a medical surgeon by profession from Argentina, and Jose Antonio Pineda Martinez from Barcelona, Spain will adjudicate the dog shows from where they will pick their own set of best baby puppy, best Philippine-born and best in show.
