NCA derbies up

MANILA, Philippines - The race for Stag Fighter of the Year heats up when the National Cockers Alliance (NCA) stages its Stag Derby Circuit this September and next month.

The opening event on Sept. 14 at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig   features the entries of the country’s leading cockfighting breeders and aficionados. It will be hosted by Gov. Ito Ynares and the Firefly Group, and Eric dela Rosa and Elmer Nepomuceno.

The next derbies will be held Sept. 21 and 28, and Oct. 12 and 14.

The Sept. 21 event will be hosted by Osang dela Cruz and Tommy Chua, and top cockers Ruel Ricafort, James Uy, and Rene Medina.

Patric Antonio, the Batangas and Cebu Groups, Efren Canlas, the Madlangbayan Brothers, the Jinco Brothers, and Jet Fernando and his son will host the Oct. 12 derby.

Gerry Ramos, Bebot Villar, and Ricky Magtoto will host the final derby on Oct. 19.

The NCA Stag Derby circuit will determine who will be the NCA Stag Fighter of the Year. The champion and runner-up will receive prizes and trophies.
