Ateneo, La Salle Zobel reach semis

MANILA, Philippines - Ateneo de Manila-A and De La Salle Zobel primed themselves up for a possible finals clash in the Small Basketeers Philippines while La Salle Greenhills and San Beda College advanced in the Passerelle Division as the twin tournaments of the Milo-sponsored Basketball Efficiency and Scientific Training Center (Best Center) near their close at the Xavier School gym.

Ateneo-A clobbered Notre Dame of Greater Manila, 63-33, recently to arrange a knockout semifinal duel against Marist School, which blasted Don Bosco Technical Institute-Makati, 59-33, in the upper half of the SBP quarterfinals pairings.

La Salle Zobel, meanwhile, scuttled San Beda-Alabang, 62-50, for the right to face host Xavier School, which made mincemeat of LSGH-A, 51-34, in the other SBP semis pairing.

In the Passerelle Division quarterfinals, LSGH routed SBC-Alabang, 75-24, and will face the host school, which rocked SBC-B, 91-31.

SBC-A, downed Don Bosco-Makati, 97-34, and will face School of St. Anthony, which downed University of the East, 46-39.

The semifinals matches are being played this weekend at the Xavier School gym.
