MANILA, Philippines - The Yamaha Grand Prix goes to Davao this weekend for the underbone road race event at the SM parking lot with riders from the whole of Mindanao region expected to vie for top honors and test their skills for possible slots in international competitions.
Sanctioned by NAMSSA, the sole body accredited by the Federation Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM), the world governing body for motorcycle sports, the event will also showcase the latest of the Yamaha technology for the daily automatic scooter and underbone models of the Mio, Vega, Krypton, Sniper and the latest Mio Fino models.
“We believe in bringing the races to the people by hosting our events in city centers and with the highest safety rating approved by NAMSSA, we want to showcase Yamaha products at its peak of performance,” said Rodney Bersamina, marketing manager of Yamaha Philippines.
The event, also sanctioned by the Philippine Sports Commission and the Philippine Olympic Committee, was earlier held in Luzon and Visayas with Mindanao taking its turn this weekend. The circuit will be staged in accordance with international safety standards and will use state-of-the-art air pillows fence safety systems imported from Australia and used in FIM races abroad.
