MANILA, Philippines - Six-time world champion Paeng Nepomuceno appeared set to repeat as national World Cup titlist by showing the way in the recent second center finals in 14 different venues.
Nepomuceno, the only four-time World Cup titlist, rolled a 2887 pinfalls in 12 games for a sizzling 240 average at the Superbowl.
“I feel good,” said the lefty Nepomuceno after easily making it to the national finals set Aug. 30-31 at Coronado Lanes, Sept. 2-3 at Paeng’s Midtown and Sept. 4 at SM Mall of Asia.
The unsinkable veteran was named Sportsman of the Tournament last year when he represented the country in the international finals in Melaka, Malaysia together with Liza del Rosario.
The men’s and women’s national champions this year will carry the RP colors in the 2010 BWC international finals set at the 44-lane Bowling de Provence in Toulon, France from Oct. 15-24.
Also making it to the national finals were former world champion Biboy Rivera with 2802, Jong Enriquez (2737), Joonee Gatchalian (2727), RJ Bautista (2632) and unhertalded Kenneth Piedad (2711).
