Poveda trims St. Paul five in WNCAA

MANILA, Philippines - St. Pedro Poveda College’s grade school used a big first quarter run then went to blast St. Paul College Pasig, 37-21, in the midget division of the 41st WNCAA at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium last weekend.

Poveda actually shackled St. Paul in the opening period, holding it scoreless while pouring in 10 points of its own en route to the victory.

Meanwhile, Centro Escolar University beat San Beda College-Alabang, 72-44, while four-time defending champion Lyceum tripped St. Scholastica’s College, 99-39.

St. Paul College Pasig, meanwhile, humbled Miriam in volleyball, 25-11, 25-20.

St. Scholastica also scored twin victories in volleyball, beating St. Jude Catholic School, 25-5, 25-6, in midgets, and repulsing Emilio Aguinaldo College, 25-10, 25-15, 25-10, in Senior B.
