MANILA, Philippines - The MCC Open and kiddies standard chess tournaments start at 1:30 p.m. today with the final day to start at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow at Jollibee-Times Plaza near LRT UN station, Taft Ave., Manila.
The Open category is open to titled or untitled, rated or unrated players while the kiddies tournament is for players 12 years old and below.
Both have two choices of schedule with the two-day event to be played over the 90-minute time control and the one-day tourney set at 20-minute and 90-minute time control.
At stake is P20,000 with the champions to receive P4,000 (Open) and P2,000 (kiddies), respectively, plus trophies.
