MANILA, Philippines - Roy “The Punisher” Docyogen hopes to retain his pinweight crown against Jordan “Jungle Boy” Ogo of Saipan today when they meet in the featured match of the Colt 45-URCC (Universal Reality Combat Championships) XVII at the A. Venue Events Hall in Makati.
The 5-foot-5 Docyogen, who is hoping to get an invitation to see action in the Martial Combat in Singapore someday, will stake his seven-game winning run against one of Saipan’s most feared strikers in the event presented by Colt 45 and backed by Tribal Gear and Alaxan FR.
“I have trained for almost three months for this fight, so I’m ready to face him. I haven’t see him play but I will try my best to beat him,” said the Lakay Wushu bet who is a takedown specialist.
The other highlight in the 10-bout affair also supported by Solar TV, Solar Sports, 99.5 RT, NU 107, Rogue Magazine, Pinoy Exchange, VRP Medical Center, Chris Sports, Yoshinoya, and SEAIR is the welterweight showdown between Froilan Sarenas and Iranian Razi Jabbari.
Dubbed as “Havoc”, action starts at 7 p.m. with URCC founder and president Alvin Aguilar expecting another huge crowd.
Though this will be his first match in the country’s fastest growing sport, Sarenas believes his purple belt in the Brazilian jiu jitsu is better than Jabbari’s ground and pound skills.
Aguilar said that nobody has a clear advantage over one another, saying: “It’s going to be a close call.”
Also expected to provide fireworks are the heavyweight showdown between Elorde’s Panchito Estrada and Ukrainian Igor Subora and the featherweight battle between multiple SEA Games medallist Erick Kelly and Aden Zarco.
Other matches pit Bernardo Soriano versus Honorario Banario (lightweight), Noel Narada against Rad Llanasa (pin), Andrew Benibe opposite Jessie Rafols (bantam), Reysaldo Transmonte against Lino Tagacay (bantam), Carl Sabeniano against Jerson Estoro (feather) and Charry Dela Cruz versus Regie Amarante (pin).
