MANILA, Philippines - Roy “The Punisher” Docyogen will stake his title and unbeaten card against a tough competitor from Saipan to headline a heavy 10-fight bill in the Colt 45 URCC XVII “Havoc” this Saturday at the A. Venue Events Hall in Makati.
Reigning URCC pinweight champ Docyogen of Lakay Wushu club, sporting a perfect 7-0 slate highlighted by a TKO and three RSC (TKO) verdicts, will duke it out with Jordan “Jungle Boy” Ogo of Team Haga T-Saipan in the promotion’s lone title fight.
Ogo, himself undefeated in three MMA bouts, has been described as a “striker who has a bit of an unorthodox style but is very aggressive and is naturally very strong for his weight and size.”
The 25-year-old Docyogen admitted he hasn’t seen the challenger from Saipan fight but he’d be ready for whatever Ogo will bring into the ring.
“I’m in good condition and I intend to capitalize on my striking skills to beat him,” Docyogen said during yesterday’s press launch that was also attended by URCC founder and president Alvin Aguilar and Colt 45 brand manager Joseph Consul at the Yoshinoya restaurant in Makati.
Serving as co-main event in the promotion backed by Tribal Gear and Alaxan FR will be the welterweight duel between debuting Froilan Sarenas, a Brazilian jiu jitsu purple belter, and Razi “the Iranian” Jabbari, a known striker with a 2-3 slate in the URCC.
Other showdowns feature Real Pinoy Fighter reality TV show semifinalist Bernard Soriano against SEA Games multiple medalist Honorio Banario (lightweight); RP wrestler Noel Norada versus pro boxer Rad Llanasa (pinweight); Andrew Benibe against Jessie Rafols (bantamweight);
Muay Thai pro Resaldo Transmonte versus comebacking ex-URCC champ Lino Tagacay (bantamweight); ex-URCC lightweight boss Carl Sabeniano versus muay champ Jerson Estoro (featherweight); Ukrainian Sambo practitioner Igor Subora against boxer Panchito Estrada (heavyweight); Aden Zarco versus SEAG medalist Eric Kelly (featherweight); and Charry dela Cruz against Regie Amarante (pinweight).
