Buenavista rules Milo Baguio run
BAGUIO CITY, Philippines – Marathon king Eduardo Buenavista ruled the 34th National Milo Marathon Sunday capping off the Northern Luzon leg where 7,300 runners joined the uphill Baguio races at Burnham Park.
Buenavista finished the 21-K run at 1:06:36 while rookie Mercy Taypoc clocked in 1:35:35 to rule the women’s side.
Buenavista and Taypoc led 29 other runners who qualified for the finals of the 34th National Milo Marathon together with Rene Herrera and Hernanie.
The event donated 140 pairs of running shoes to students of Baguio City National High School as part of the Milo marathon advocacy program.
In fact, teener Divina Kitongan, a beneficiary of the running shoes, emerged champion in the female 5K races with an impressive finish of 16 minutes, 43 seconds.
