Holy Angels tops Eagle Ridge bowling
MANILA, Philippines - The Holy Angels flashed fine form to dominate the field and capture the Eagle Ridge Team Challenge bowling tournament crown at the Eagle Ridge Golf and Country Club lanes in Gen. Trias, Cavite recently.
Jojo Poblete, Floyd Ramos, Simeon Papa and Teddy Angeles combined for a 200-plus game while Alexis Siy and Ric Crisologo anchored the team’s romp in the one-day tourney that drew 13 teams and featured members of the national training pool.
The Holy Angels combined for a three-game series of 2750, beating Kenneth Chua and his Evolution (ITBA 2) teammates Dom Dumalaon, Nono Enaje, Jun Nierva and Miriam Enaje.
Multi-titled Liza del Rosario turned in the best game of 215 and lifted Orchard to third place with 2566 in the event organized by Eagle Ridge family clubhouse manager Ompong Ramirez as a follow-up to the club’s successful participation in the recent Philippine Bowling Congress Open Inter-Commercial Team Challenge.
“It was a victory party of sorts and we’re glad the national team accommodated our request to come over for a day out at our club,” said Ramirez.
The Baquirs, led by Frederic Ong, combined for 2598 to finish fourth place while Allright Team (Metroclub) placed fifth with 2435.
Rounding out the standings are ITBA 1, Tagaytay Rumble, BALP/TBCP, D’International and JAT Team. Selection, Medwest, Lady Eagles and Junior&Co.
