Buncio eyes 4th superbikes win in row

-

MANILA, Philippines - Defending champion Maico Buncio of YRS-Elf Moto Oil-Yamaha Racing tries to firm up his lead as he goes for a fourth straight win in the Enersel Forte Philippine Superbikes Championship Series today at the Clark International Speedway in Pampanga.

The 20-year-old Buncio is way ahead of the pack with another win putting him closer to a four-peat feat.

Buncio has been a dominant figure in the current season, winning all the pre-final and final races of the past three legs for 150 points in the premiere Enersel Forte Superbikes Open class.

Former 10-time Superbikes champ Jolet Jao moved up to second with 112 points, dislodging Glenn Aguilar of Enersel Forte-Ducati Racing and Dashi Watanabe, who are now in third and fourth with 110 and 100 points, respectively.

Watanabe, meanwhile, tries to maintain his lead in the Intermediate class over Defensor, Mario Niño Garcia and Raniel Resuello in the event sponsored by Enersel Forte, Pagcor Sports, MTRT, Aeromed, Inside Racing Magazine and Stoplight TV.

Aguilar seeks to bounce back in the race for the Superbikes crown as he eyes his fourth straight victory in the Motard Expert class over teammate Toti Alberto and Allan Suansing.
