Batangas hosts Shell Active chess
MANILA, Philippines - Batangas City will host the third leg of the 2010 Shell National Youth Active Chess Championships July 17-18 for the Southern Luzon eliminations at SM City Batangas’ Event Center.
Registration is now in full swing with the field limited to the first 500 entries. Fee is pegged at P50 on a first-come, first-served basis.
Participants may download registration forms by logging on to www.shell.com.ph/shell chess.
Listup is also open at selected schools, chess clubs and municipal/provincial government offices and at various Shellane Showrooms nationwide.
Competition is expected to be fierce in the 14-and-under and 20-and-under age group categories with the top three in both divisions advancing to the national finals slated in October in Manila.
Richelieu Salcedo III of Rizal Technological University and Christian Nanola of Laguna College of Business and Arts upstaged their more fancied rivals to rule their respective divisions last year.
