Reyes, Benitez head RP bid

-

MANILA, Philippines - Top Filipino karters left yesterday with high hopes for a better finish as Macau hosts the second round of the 2010 Asian Karting Open Championship set July 9-11 at the Kartodromo de Coloane Circuit.

Jet Racing’s Franco Reyes and Javi Benitez will spearhead the country’s bid for honors in this event organized by the Automobile General Association Macao-China, sponsored by the Red White Racing Indonesia and supported by the Philippine Sports Commission and the Department of Tourism.

Reyes emerged the top Filipino winner in the kickoff leg staged last month in Carmona while Benitez came out as the top Filipino finisher in the premiere Formula 125 Open Seniors class.

Joining RP’s campaign are Christian Gaddi of Jet Racing, Cebuano John Tristan Gullas and Christian Villenuve of Maranello-San Miguel Corporation-Marcelo Racing.

Singapore may likely emerge RP’s biggest rival in the three-day event.
