Ford Focus-TRS dominates GT racing at BRC

MANILA, Philippines - The Ford Focus-TRS Racing Team uncorked another sterling performance, harvesting 10 trophies recently in the third leg of 2010 Philippine GT Championship at the Batangas Racing Circuit in Rosario, Batangas.

As Mike Tuason was bogged by engine problems, the Ford Focus drivers put up a big fight pulling off a 1-2-3 finish in the sprint and main races with the backing of Ford, Castrol, Goodyear, Coke Zero, Speedlab, Rota Wheels, Starbright Bodykits, Ultra Racing, Discovery Suites, Fremuff, OMP, Oakley, Toptul, C! Magazine.

Ding Dizon unveiled a good show, as he captured the GT125 crown in the morning 12-lap sprint race, clocking 24 minutes, 59.175 seconds.

Sean Red Path copped runner-up honors while Veli-Matti Kaikkonen took third place.

The team continued to dominate the afternoon 18-lap main race. Kaikkonen rose to the occasion, finishing third overall behind the veterans to clinch the GT125 crown after 35 minutes, 33.893 seconds.

Dizon checked in second while Bobby Horrigan completed another 1-2-3 sweep.

Despite the problems, Tuason went on to sweep the GT300 crown over teammate Bobby Noriega in both the sprint and main races.

Still, Tuason remains the overall leader for the GT Driver of the Year race while the Ford Focus -TRS racing team continues to enjoy a big advantage in the GT125 points ladder – showing the racing excellence and the championship tradition of the new 1.8 Ford Focus race cars, which have been performing very well in the past years in Philippine motorsports.

The Ford Focus-TRS partnership has won the national touring car championship and other motor sports discipline for the past three years.
