Jr Warriors top Lim caging

MANILA, Philippines - The University of the East Junior Warriors, honing up for the forthcoming UAAP junior basketball tournament, topped San Sebastian Team-B, 61-59, to rule the Mayor Fred Lim Cup interschool championships recently.

The tournament is the final tuneup for coach Mark Herrera’s rookie-laden team, which has only two key players as it gears up for a decent finish this season.

“With 13 rookies we have a tough task ahead of us but our boys have the dedication and hard work to face the odds,” said Herrera, assistant coach of the Red Warriors and four-peat champion coach of Batang Talk n Text-Quezon City in the Batang PBA summer league. “We have the full support of the UE community and the physical education department (under Rodrigo Roque).”
