Fern-C eyes big chances in Asian Karting Open
MANILA, Philippines - Team Fern-C Racing hopes to achieve milestones for the Philippines as it parades a young but very competitive lineup today in the kickoff of the 2010 Asian Karting Open Championship at the Carmona Circuit Philippines.
Veteran Vencer John Suba, Estefano Rivera and lady karter Sacha Feliciano will banner Team Fern-C Racing’s quest for honors against Asia’s top breed with the support of PCR-Italy, Tyson Sy Foundation Inc., Placewell International Inc., CMB Films, Getaway Tours Int’l and Alabang Auto Exchange Center.
Fern-C has been at the forefront of Philippine sports such as basketball, drifting, drag racing, slalom and karting as Fern-C’s PR sports and events management group sees the Asian karting tilt a big honor to serve the country.
“We are very grateful to the big support of Fern-C and its PR sports and events management group whose thrust is to develop talented young racers from all walks of life into future champions,” said Team Fern-C Racing head coach Edgen Dy-Liacco.
Suba, son of a mechanic, will be the team’s top bets in the premiere Formula 125 Open Seniors class, up against the challenge of last year’s junior champ Mohammed Sharif Rahardjo, Indonesian bet Senna Sulaiman Noor, Malaysian top guns Gary Mumford and Natasha Seatter.
“They supported VJ (Suba) because they believe in his potentials as a future champ, and hopefully, the team will deliver their best in honor of the Philippine flag,” Dy-Liacco added.
Joining the 38-man field in the Formula Open is Rivera, who clinched three major plums – the Rookie Karter of the Year, the Asian Karting Yamaha Cup Juniors title and the Formula SL Novice crown – last season.
