DAGUPAN CITY , Philippines – Some 10,000 runners are expected to join the Dagupan leg of the 34th National Milo Marathon on July 11 this year.
Tess Bernardino, Milo sports director in Northern Luzon, told The STAR they hope to surpass the 7,000 participants during last year’s edition in the city.
She said that the event will have four categories, the three-kilometer race for seven to 12 years old; five-kilometer Fun Run for 13 years old and above; 10-kilometer and 21-kilometer runs for 18 years and above.
The Dagupan leg will start and end at the CSI City Mall in Barangay Lucao here, Bernardino said.
Aside from the races, cheer dance contest will serve as a side event, Bernardino said.
Top finishers will be given cash and trophies and the rest of the finishers will be given certificates.
The event is held in cooperation with the city government of Dagupan, the Department of Education(Deped) and the Department of Tourism(DOT).
