Estanio, Adorador top Iloilo leg performers

ILOILO CITY , Philippines  – Local bets stole spotlight in the 10th leg of the Smart/Head Junior Tennis Tour Satellite Circuit 2010 at the La Paz Tennis Courts here.

Sara Jessica Adorador, Mathew Crisosto and Melissa Sobrevega stamped their class in their respective fields and secured ranking points from the sanctioning Philippine Tennis Association.

Adorador dumped fellow Ilongga Danielle Aligaen, 6-1, 6-4, in the 12-under girls division of this event presented by tennis backer Manny V. Pangilinan, chairman of Smart Sports in cooperation with Head, Chris Sports, Toalson and Meralco.

Crisosto shone in the 12-under boys after ripping RJ Singson of San Carlos City, 6-2, 6-2, while Sobrevega outlasted previous top performer Chelsea Gacho in a thrilling, three-set encounter, 4-6, 6-2, 10-5.

But Adorador and Rogelio Estanio Jr. emerged as the top performers of the leg. Both players received brand new cellphones and loads from Smart Communications and tennis equipment from Head.

Estanio earned the organizers’ nod after surviving Davis Cupper Paolo Cansino in the 16-under boys class. The pride of Parang, Maguindanao won in a grueling three-set match, 7-5, 5-7, 10-8.
